CO-LEAD: Collaborative Learning Adventures
Are you ready to co-lead with us?

Friday 17 February, 2012 @ Philips Amsterdam

DOC20 sees that our planet is going through drastic transitions where old structures are decaying and new patterns of thinking are arising. Education is not an exception.

Learning is no longer exclusively defined by traditional educational routes. It is through collaborative learning that DOC20 sees the rise of far-reaching paradigms where leadership, innovation and sustainability are key to the complex challenges that our planet faces nowadays. We need capable young talent ready to respond creatively to these challenges, so that businesses, institutions and our communities can sustainably harness this transition.

We feel the urgency to contribute to this change. We cannot do this alone. We don’t want to do this alone. We need allies.

As a frontrunner in your field, we invite you to CO-LEAD a multi- sector learning avenue with us. Your experience and challenges are vital in defining the new sets of skills that young change agents require. This way they can become the innovative force that our planet and many organizations urgently need.

Would you like to explore what CO-LEAD can mean for their future and the future of your organisation?

April 2011, Sweden: launch of the bubblebee project

April 2011, Sweden: launch of the bubblebee project.

Land borders are becoming more and more diffuse. Friendships and relations are more and more worldwide. For young people, the internet is the most important playground where borders are constantly redefined. It’s exciting to see how this boundlessness creates new ways of connecting, co-creation and working. While the world is still governed by ‘old powers’, a new paradigm is created with an increasing impact.

This given inspired Pieter Ploeg and Diederik Bosscha to start with the Bubblebee-project. The goal is to make this new paradigm visible and therefore it’s obvious that they make use of the same boundlessness and use the Internet as medium. The cooperation between Pieter (Canada, Sweden) and Diederik (the Netherlands) is an expression of that. Weekly Skype calls bridged the many land borders between them and resulted in this project.

Bubblebee is also a journalistic experiment: a question is sent into the world, without having control on who is answering it and when the answer is returned to the core team. Bubblebee is a chain of stories of young world citizen, where the interviewed will be the interviewer next time.

Target group
Young world citizen aged 18 to 28 years.

Goals

Make the new paradigm visible created by young creatives

Show the ideas of youngsters about their future

Hear the voice of youngsters

Connecting initiatives of youngsters

Generate power and inspiration for others

Show, share and improve initiatives of youngsters all over the world

Concept
During the launch in Sweden, April 2011 a young inspiring world citizen will be interviewed, according to a fixed structure. This story will be documented by camera and uploaded to www.bubblebee.org. The camera will be passed on to this person who will subsequently select an inspiring friend from his/her network for an interview. This uploading and passing on the camera will be repeated so that a chain of stories and short movies will be created. The journey of the camera has begun…

1. The bubblebee
Bubblebee is the name of the camera, which will go around the world with a mission to find flowers for the honey (inspiring stories). The camera will be caried in a small box, together with a manual and guidelines for the interviews. Furthermore you’ll find a logbook for sharing personal messages.

2. Website
The website is the heart of the project. It contains background information on the project, the people, a blog, the video’s and current news. It is also linked with Social Media, and offers an online community.
This website would be co-developed with the core team and the designer.

3 Videos
For outreach purposes Youtube is used for the movies. Youtube has a higher potential for them to go viral, and also builds a fan base more easily.

4. Social Media
Facebook is used to create a fan base of followers (Page), and a community for the participants of the project (Group). Here we reach out to the community with status updates and news updates.

With Twitter we can very accurately follow the camera, and ask participants to tweet about their experience. The project account builds a community of followers that get inspiration from the videos and stories of the camera.

5. Map
An online (google) map will show the journey based on GPS locations of the Camera and the Movies. The participants update this map when they upload their footage.

6. Documentary
Followers of the project can vote for the different movies they like most. Out of the best rated movies we will make a documentary, which will be shown at the closing event.
